Barn Again.
How a wreck of a barn became a beautiful farm distillery.
an old spirit gets a new life
Originally part of an 1820’s sheep farm in New York’s upper Hudson River Valley, the post and beam barn began its new life as a micro farm distillery in 2009. It’s lovely old structure had been abandoned for decades and threatened to collapse into the ground. A new foundation was poured, which required the entire structure to be lifted into the air 14 feet while bulldozers buzzed around underneath. The original slate roof, wood flooring and hand-hewn beams were intact. A hand-painted logo on the side of the barn provided just the right finishing touch.
Their fresh design incorporates both historic and new aesthetics, reflecting the Luckeys’ vision of creating New World spirits from Old World traditions.
